Frozen Brands sets up ongoing donation of frozen fruit to Bobbi Bear Rescue Centre

Donation will improve daily nutritional intake of children at the home

Frozen Brands, which manufactures and distributes Fruzo Flash Frozen Fruit, will donate 50kg of frozen fruit per month on an ongoing basis to Bobbi Bear Rescue Centre in Amanzimtoti, KwaZulu-Natal.

Run by Operation Bobbi Bear, a human rights organisation committed to helping sexually abused children, the Rescue Centre functions as a drop-in centre, a counselling facility, and a community help desk for child sexual abuse. The centre is also a safe haven and temporary home for children seeking refuge from abuse and their abusers.

Frozen Brands directors Blake Edy and Creagh Goble made the donation to Eureka Olivier, Financial Administrative Director at Operation Bobbi Bear.

This donation, which also includes a smoothie maker, will enable Operation Bobbi Bear to make a smoothie per child, per day, to meet the daily nutritional intake that fresh produce would provide if it was continually available.

“It was so touching to see the amazing and thankless work being done by Eureka and her team at Bobbi Bear! As people going about our normal lives, we really don’t appreciate the hardship, abuse and sheer neglect some children receive at the hands of, in some cases, their own parents and family! We are grateful we can help in some way to making these children’s lives a little easier!” said Edy.

“Our visit to Bobbi Bear today was a reminder of how a small things can make such a huge difference to so many little lives,” continued Goble.
